Despite the massive presence of violence and abuse around the globe, an often overlooked area of need for children is protection. This includes an active role in physically preventing abuses from taking place as well as the establishment of social programs that educate, create awareness, help with support and counseling and more.

Unfortunately, children are subjected to many different kinds of violence and abuse. Tragically just a few of these major areas include sexual abuse, physical beatings and assault, child pornography, prostitution and trafficking, corporal punishment by school and government officials, female genital cutting and much more.

Hundreds of millions of children throughout the world deal with these issues and others, so the creation and establishment of prevention, awareness, counseling and other programs is of the utmost importance. Amend Foundation not only wants to prevent abuses from taking place today, but wants to work with communities and governments to help create long-term changes in values, belief systems and more that will continue to prevent these abuses and can hopefully lead to their complete absence in particular regions and areas.

A physical or sexual abuse is more than a one-time event. It’s life altering and often times repetitive, and it can lead children down a far different path in life than what they need, deserve or had intended.
